Sun is working in her garden when the creepy music starts.
She looks around for the bad guys, but it's Jack who walks out of the jungle instead. Maybe Jack's the bad guy now?
Jack says he stopped by her tent, but Jin wasn't there. She says he's off on a wild goose hike with Hurley, Charlie and Desmond -- does Jack want her to shout real loud for him to come back?
Jack asks to help out with the planting, and then starts asking Sun about her pregnancy -- is she feeling alright, what about morning sickness, is there any bleeding?
Sun's a little suspicious at all the questions, but Jack says that now he's back on the beach, he's checking up on all his patients.
Flashback!
Sun's shopping and chatting on the phone with Jin. It's obvious that this is right after the wedding, so they've got to do the annoying, kissy-face small talk.
Sun sits on a bench to wrap up her phone call. The woman next to her has a newspaper, and in it is a picture of Sun and Jin's wedding.
The woman congratulates Sun and says Jin is very handsome. Then she asks Sun if her family is *that* Paik family -- the one that owns the car company and breaks legs on the side. Sun claims to not have much to do with business.
Woman asks about Jin's parents, but Sun says they're dead. The woman doesn't buy it, and says it would be quite the scandal if everyone knew Mr. Paik's daughter married the son of a fisherman. Sun bristles and says that she knows who Jin's father was, and it doesn't matter.
Woman asks if Sun knew Jin's mother was a prostitute. She says that she'll be back in three days, and she wants $100,000. If Sun wants to protect Jin from the shame, she'll pay up.
In the jungle, Jin and Desmond check out Parachute Chick. Desmond says he doesn't know who she is, but Hurley points out that she obviously knows Desmond. She starts to wake up, coughs a bunch, and says something in Spanish -- she's dying. They turn her to reveal a big-ass branch stuck in her side.
Desmond tells Hurley to go get the medical kit, but Hurley wants to know if this is a rescue. Jin and Charlie want to go get Jack. Desmond says they can't move her, and it's an eight-hour walk back to the beach. He offers to run it.
Charlie, who's stalking Desmond these days, says he can't go alone -- the Others are out there, and they're not nice. Desmond argues that no one knows where they are, so it'll be safe, just as ... Hurley shoots a flare into the sky. Oops, Dude.
Flashback!
Sun is unpacking in her and Jin's new apartment when he arrives looking for a little foreplay. And hey -- he brought takeout, too!
She asks Jin if he has any pictures of his family. He says no -- they were too poor to have a camera, and his father died when he was in the army. Sun says she thought his father died when he was a teenager, and Jin argues that it's his damn life -- he knows when his father died!
On the beach, Sun asks Kate about Jack, saying that he's been different since he came back from Othersville.
Kate says Jack told her he was a prisoner, and that he cooperated with the Others because he thought he could get off the Island. Sun asks Kate if she believes him, and Kate says she has no reason not to.
Sun says that Jack was asking about her pregnancy, and she's worried that the Others want her baby, and that Jack's working with them.
Kate looks over at Juliet, and tells Sun that Juliet was the Others' fertility doctor, and that she was studying pregnant women. And when Claire was sick, Juliet told Kate and Jack that the Others had wanted Aaron for research.
Sun stomps over to Juliet and demands to know what's up -- what happens to pregnant women on the Island?
Juliet asks Sun if she's sure she's preggers.
"I asked you a question!" Sun yells. "Everyone might be all right with you washing your clothes and eating our food, but I want to know what's going on. I want answers! What are you people doing? Why are you taking children? What happens to pregnant women on this island? What happens to pregnant--"
"They die," Juliet says. "They all die."
Kate gives Juliet the bitch face and drags Sun away.
Parachute Chick says something in Chinese. Charlie thinks they should yank the branch out of her, but Desmond says that will just make her injuries worse.
Charlie puts on his bitch face, and accuses Desmond of forgetting what's at stake. He asks if this was in Des' flashes, and wants to know who's getting an arrow in the neck today.
Desmond points out that Parachute Chick was carrying a photo of him and Penny, and that maybe he's got more at stake than Charlie does. He says he's leaving to get help, and Charlie bitches some more.
They hear a noise in the Jungle, and ...
OMGWTFBBQ!!???!!!! Patchy? Aren't you dead??
Patchy takes off running. Jin follows, they fight, and Jin smacks him down with his hardcore karate action.
Desmond slams Patchy against a tree and threatens to shoot him with a flare gun. Gee, the Lostaways are so nice to new people! Charlie knows Patchy, though -- he's an Other.
"Dude, I thought that guy was dead," Hurley says. Dude -- that makes two of us.
Desmond threatens Patchy again, but Patchy ain't impressed -- he's already died once this week.
Parachute Chick says something in Italian -- she's a very well-rounded Parachute Chick. Patchy says that she's got a punctured lung, she's dying, and he can help her.
He offers to fix her up, but says the guys have to let him go afterwards.
Sun sits on the beach, watching Claire play with Aaron.
Flashback!
Sun, with a file that includes a picture of Jin's dad, walks down a pier towards a broken-down fishing boat. Mr. Kwon's there, and he knows her. He's happy she's come.
Jin's dad invites her into his home and makes tea. He asks about the wedding, and Sun asks why he didn't come. Dad asks Sun what Jin told her about him.
Sun says Jin said he was dead. Dad says Jin did it to avoid the shame of where he came from. Sun asks Dad if that's why he told Jin his mother died when he was a baby.
Dad switches the tea for sake, and explains that Jin's mother was a ho, and that she left Jin with him. Dad didn't know if Jin was his son, but he raised him anyway. He begs Sun not to let Jin suffer the shame of knowing the truth about his mother.
Juliet wakes Sun up in the middle of the night, and claps a hand over her mouth so she won't scream. And the Others wonder why no one trusts them! A little interpersonal training would go a long way.
She tells Sun that if she wants answers about her baby, she's got to come with her right now.
Sun wants to know why she should trust Juliet, if she's gonna die anyway? Juliet says there may still be hope.
She takes Sun to the abandoned station that Kate and Claire found, saying that there's an ultrasound machine there.
Juliet wants to scan the baby and determine the date of conception. If Sun got pregnant before the crash, she and the baby will probably live. If not, well ...
Flashback!
Sun goes to see her daddy at work, and tells him she needs a favor. She wants $100,000, no questions asked.
Daddy's gonna ask questions. Sun says that for her entire life, she's pretended that Daddy's not a gangsta. She'll keep pretending that everything's okey-dokey if Daddy gives her the cash, and that she's doing it to protect someone she loves from deep shame.
Daddy asks if the person she's protecting is Jin, but gives her the cash anyway. He says the debt is now Jin's. He won't work at the car factory anymore -- he's being promoted to Junior Gangsta.
Patchy asks about Parachute Chick, and Hurley says all she had with her was a book, the flare gun and a satellite phone. Patchy asks if the phone works, and Hurley's all "like I'd tell you."
Patchy tells Desmond to hold Parachute Chick, and then he jabs a big syringe into her side and blood spurts up into the air. Gross! Then he yanks the branch out and she screams.
Parachute Chick says something in a random language, probably Portuguese. Patchy says it means "thank you." He lied. From what I could tell, she said "I'm not alone."
In the medical station, Sun asks Juliet why she's helping her.
Juliet says that she used to tell women they were preggers, and it was the best news ever. Now she's on the Island, and all her patients have croaked. She wants to give someone good news again.
Sun reveals that she had an affair before the crash, and that it was a mistake. Juliet says everyone makes mistakes.
Juliet pulls a lever in a locker to reveal a hidden room. Sun wants to know why the room was hidden, and Juliet says it's where the Others took the mothers to die.
Patchy says that Parachute Chick will be fine in a day -- wounds are like that on the Island. Yeah -- tell that to all the dead people.
Charlie bitches that they can't let Patchy go, but Desmond points out that they've got to carry Parachute Chick back to the beach -- are they doing to do that dragging Patchy too?
Patchy wanders away. Jin gives chase, kicks his ass again, and takes back the satellite phone Patchy had stolen. Patchy says the guys wouldn't have respected him if he didn't try to take it.
Charlie threatens to punch out Patchy's good eye Kill Bill style. Desmond stops him and lets Patchy go, as Charlie bitches and moans.
Sun tells Juliet the baby isn't Jin's -- they were trying to have a baby in Korea, and the doctors said Jin was infertile.
Juliet says men on the Island get super sperm, and the chances for pregnancy are much higher. She starts the ultrasound.
Sun says she'll lose either way -- if the baby was conceived before the crash, it won't be Jin's. If it was after, she's dead.
Flashback!
Jin asks Sun why she didn't stop by when she was at the car factory. She says she didn't want to bother him, and he tells her she's never a bother. Awww.
He asks if she got the mail and she says she forgot. He asks for the mail key and she says it's in her purse. Then she realizes the money is also in her purse and calls for him and runs in there.
Too late! Jin finds the cash.
Sun lies and says she got the money from her father for furniture and a honeymoon. Jin tells her to give it back -- he will provide for her, and he doesn't want to owe Sun's Daddy anything he doesn't have to. She tells him she loves him.
Juliet shows Sun the baby on the video monitor and Sun asks if it's a boy or a girl. Juliet says it's too early to tell. She shows her the heart beating. "It's very strong, it's very healthy."
She types things into a computer as she says, "OK, you crashed here about 90 days ago. The baby was conceived about eight weeks ago. So, around 53 days. You got pregnant on the Island."
Sun cries.
"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry, Sun. I will do everything I can."
Sun smiles. "It's Jin's."
Flashback!
Sun gives the woman the money, and asks why she didn't say she was Jin's mother. Woman says she gave birth to Jin, but that doesn't make her a mother.
"You know how powerful my family is," Sun says. "My husband believes that you are dead. Do not force me to make that a reality."
Sun and Juliet leave the medical station, and Juliet says Sun's probably got two or three months to live, but that she'll do whatever she can.
Sun says the baby is Jin's, and that she's glad Juliet gave her good news.
Juliet says she wants to cover their tracks inside the medical station and asks Sun to wait outside. Inside, Juliet goes to a locker and pulls out a tape recorder.
She presses record and then says, "Ben, it's 6 a.m. on Saturday morning. Kwon is pregnant. The fetus is healthy and was conceived on Island with her husband. He was sterile before they got here. I'm still working on getting samples from the other women. I should have Austen's soon. I'll report back when I know more." She stops the recording and says, "I hate you."
Charlie bitches that they can't trust the Others, and that Patchy will be back with a Colombian Death Squad. Desmond points out that by his count, the Lostaways have killed more Others than vice-versa.
Charlie says that just because Juliet is chillin' on the beach, that doesn't mean the Others can be trusted.
Hurley plays with the satellite phone, trying to call his mom. Parachute Girl wakes up and asks where she is in English.
Hurley says he doesn't know where the Island is, but wants to know if Parachute Girl is there to rescue them. He says he's one of the survivors of Oceanic Flight 815.
Parachute Girl says that's impossible -- the wreckage of that crash was found, and there were no survivors.
