A Fair and Balanced View--a.k.a. it's time to get real

After reading my dear Paj's views on last night's SYTYCD, I can keep this pretty short because we agree on most things. ESPECIALLY the totally blatant efforts by the judges to make everyone vote off Natalie and Ivan. Bet you're wishing you'd held on to the voting power now, Nigel. Grrr.

1. Mia "the Moper" McSquinty is officially on my most annoying people list. I think she'd be satisfied if everyone just cried halfway through their dances, 'cause the people she thinks are really "grounded" and "real" seem to me like the most fakey, suckup people on the show. I don't think she let a single routine go by without being completely disagreeable, and even when Nigel tried to give his "America's the winner here" speech at the end she makes sure the dancers know how much their life is going to suck after the show. Wah-waahhh. (Debbie Downer music)

2. There should be an official ban placed on dancing to Lifehouse. Sick and tired of it. Nick did it and he won, but move on. Plus, didn't Travis do that exact solo a few weeks ago?

3. This show is definitely weighted toward traditional dancers. Benji makes people laugh when he tries hip-hop and that's okay, but Ivan gets ripped apart for not having perfect form during a stupid contemporary routine? Funny, they all thought he was pretty incredible dancing to Annie Lennox a few weeks ago, didn't they? Amazing how he just lost all that technique and growth. Ivan is like the Lance Armstrong of this show. He's scrappy and strong and they just can't keep him down--come on, Ameriker! Let's make Nigel angry!

4. Apparently, Pop ISN'T watered down hip-hop. It's actually the African Anteater Ritual. Who knew? Too bad Dan Karaty never got to know Ronnie Miller.

5. Either Heidi or Benji should win this show. Sorry Paj.
